Deputies: Waterloo man faces felony charge, several others after threatening to kill people with gun

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Waterloo man on numerous charges following aaa investigation into a person threatening to kill others with a gun.

Deputies say Samuel Eckert, 31, of Waterloo was arrested after an investigation into a male with a gun, threatening to kill people, shortly after a crash near his residence. He had also been involved in two prior domestic incidents, according to deputies.

Eckert was later located in a vehicle after he had crashed into a Town of Waterloo residence causing extensive damage and fled the scene. Deputies say was found to be in possession of controlled substances and a firearm.

Eckert was ultimately charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of a crash, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, and felony criminal possession of a weapon.

He was released and will appear in court at a later date.
