It’s been a tough week for patrol cars operated by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.
They reported another incident, marking the fourth time that one of their patrol vehicles were hit by a suspect in an investigation or case.
Deputies say Billy Adams, 51, of Hammondsport failed to pull over for them during an attempted traffic stop on County Route 16 in the town of Orange.
A brief pursuit ensued, and ended when Adams struck a patrol car head-on.
The crash happened on Sugar Hill Road, and no injuries were reported.
Adams was charged with driving while intoxicated, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and a number of other traffic violations.
He was released on an appearance ticket.
