On Wednesday evening, FingerLakes1.com live-streamed a debate between the four candidates involved in June’s Republican Primary in the 131st District. That seat, which has been held by Assemblyman Brian Kolb (R-Canandaigua) will be vacated at the end of the year. The primary contest is between Manchester Town Supervisor Jeff Gallahan, Former Canandaigua City Councilor Cindy Wade, Seneca County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Shipley, and Seneca County Farm Bureau President Ann Marie Heizmann.
Like all candidates running for elected office in 2020 – they have had to deal with the unconventional reality of campaigning during a pandemic. While three of the four candidates have already appeared on FingerLakes1.com as guests on ‘Inside the FLX’ to discuss their platforms – the debate will offer an opportunity to see where the candidates stand, and differ, on important issues. It was moderated by Josh Durso, who serves as News Director for FingerLakes1.com.
