NYS adds 24/7 chat line for those experiencing domestic violence after reporting 30% uptick in calls

New York State is adding more protective measures for victims of domestic violence.

The New York State Office for the Prevention fo Domestic Violence has added a 24/7 chat room, as well as a text line, which officials hope will add outreach options for those who cannot talk.

State officials say calls to the domestic violence hotline have spiked 30% from 2019.
