Seneca County extends emergency declaration through mid-May

On Tuesday, officials in Seneca County extended the emergency declaration, which had been issued in March due to the Novel Coronavirus.

While state officials, including Governor Andrew Cuomo, point to an improvement trend, Chairman Bob Hayssen, R-Varick, who leads the Seneca County Board of Supervisors signed the extension.

It was released by the Seneca County Emergency Management Office.

The declaration ensures that additional funding and resources can be obtained from state and federal entities.

The declaration would expire on May 14th.
