The Geneva Business Improvement District has a new director.
Michael Mills, a Canandaigua resident, was named by the BIDs board to succeed Mark Palmieri, who retired last month.
“We had many qualified candidates who applied for the executive director position,” David Linger, chairman of the Geneva BID Board of Directors told the FLT. “The BID executive director search committee’s recommendation to hire Michael was unanimously approved by the full board, and everyone is excited for him to settle in and lead our downtown business community.”
Linger spoke to the challenges that business owners are dealing with right now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“These are challenging times for everyone nationwide,” Linger added.. “We look forward to Michael helping downtown Geneva businesses navigate the current challenges and find a path forward once the current restrictions are loosened and ultimately removed. Downtown Geneva will come back even stronger than before.”
Mills has more than 20 years experience in public and corporate communications.
