Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports that on Wednesday members of the Special Investigations Unit and SWAT team executed a search warrant resulting in felony charges.
The search of a County Road 25 home in the town of Phelps occurred at an undisclosed time of day.
Henderson says Joshua Garcia, 39, of Phelps was investigated over the sale of fentanyl from his home. The Sheriff contends that the sale of narcotics was taking place at the home.
Investigators located 40 bags of Fentanyl, along with other drug paraphernalia used to distribute and sell narcotics.
Garcia was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony. Sheriff Henderson says additional felony possession and drug sale charges will be considered by a grand jury.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Canandaigua and Geneva police departments, as well as the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
