Walmart to hire 150K new workers, hand out bonuses to employees early

Walmart has plans to give cash bonuses to hourly employees and to hire an additional 150,000 new ones by the end of May.

“Our associates are our heroes,” the company said on Facebook. “To say thank you, we’re providing nearly $550 million through special bonuses and advanced quarterly bonus payouts to hourly store, club, and supply chain associates.”

The bonus is for all U.S. hourly associates in stores, clubs, supply chain and offices. Each full-time hourly employee will receive $300, and each part-time hourly employee will receive $150, the company announced in a press release.

The next round of quarterly bonuses will be coming out a month early.
