UPDATE: Home suffers significant damage after evening fire in Junius (photo)

On March 15th at approximately 7:29 p.m., deputies responded to 709 Birdsey Road in the Town of Junius for a reported structure fire.

Deputies arrived and observed the east side of the residence to be completely engulfed by flames. They were able to confirm on scene that the residence was unoccupied.

Junius Fire Department responded to the scene and began operations. Deputies report the residents of the home; Kyle D. Good and Luanne B. Good, both 21-years-old, and their infant daughter, were all out of the residence and unharmed during the fire.

Junius Fire Department was assisted by Magee Fire Department, The Waterloo Fire Department, Oak’s Corners Fire Department, Border City Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, The Fire Investigation Team and the County Coordinators.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the fire was out and an investigation showed that the cause was a wood stove.

There were no injuries reported at the scene of the fire. The residence sustained heavy damage. Red Cross was notified, however the victims had family in the area that they opted to stay with.
