Lake effect snow showers linger, but heaviest snow now passed the Finger Lakes
The snow is slowing down or has stopped. The Winter Storm Warnings, which have been active for most of the day will continue overnight – but the worst of this winter storm has passed.
Snowfall amounts varied, but road conditions lived up to forecasters expectations. Travel was treacherous throughout the morning and early-afternoon hours.
Check out the latest below. We’ll be compiling photos from around the region, and snowfall totals.

Here is the latest on today's winter storm. Expect to see a period of very heavy snowfall from this morning into this afternoon. https://t.co/pCBJMoQtPy pic.twitter.com/GFVKBreztP

(1/2): Snow will increase in intensity this morning with the heaviest snow east of Rochester, where snowfall rates of up to 2"/hr will be possible within a band of heavy snow. Heaviest snowfall across the area will be from 9AM – 2PM today. pic.twitter.com/HEhdKgEQlu
— NWS Buffalo (@NWSBUFFALO) February 7, 2020
(2/2): Blowing snow will also be an issue across the area, causing additional reductions in visibility and drifting snow. Snow will accumulate on top of any ice that remains from yesterday and last night, causing slippery conditions on untreated surfaces. https://t.co/0XbKOxqvXv
