Palmyra man pleads guilty to producing child porn, distributing it in Europe

A Palmyra man has pleaded guilty to producing child porn. He’s now scheduled to be sentenced in May.

David Gfeller, 35, was originally arrested in March 2019 after an investigation was launched in February.

Authorities had received information that child pornography had been detected in several European countries, and the origin of it – was likely Western New York.

Eventually the content was traced back to Gfeller’s home. A search warrant was executed. Authorities say a victim was also identified through the investigative process.

Court paper says that Gfeller admitted to using the victim to make child pornography for upwards of 3 years.

The investigation involved Homeland Security, New York State Police, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
