Big changes made to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital thanks to grant funding

A grant from the Marshall Family played a crucial role in upgrading one of Wayne County’s most important assets.

The Marshall Birthing Center at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital recently went through renovations and an expansion.

Cindy Witter serves as Nurse Manager at the Birthing Center. She told Finger Lakes News Radio that the changes were a great addition for patients and staff.

“We’ve been able to increase our infant security, and as you know infant security is a huge thing in this day-and-age,” she told FLNR. “With these renovations we now have more locked doors, a hug system, which allows security for each infant, and many other features.”

A major part of the changes and renovation included making the space more family-friendly for those visiting.

An improved waiting room makes getting into the space better for everyone who visits.
