In the Rochester-area there is a lot of excitement around the growth and expansion of YMCA facilities. It’s a trend that’s being captured by the organization across the U.S.
But here in the Finger Lakes there’s a lot of excitement around development at a Y location in Ontario County.
The Clifton Springs YMCA is expected to go under construction this spring. On April 1st a modern wellness center with full-accessible and welcoming lobby and space for personal training, indoor sports, and youth fitness programs will get underway, according to the Messenger Post.
Todd Freelove, executive director of the Clifton Springs Family YMCA is understandably excited about the prospect of growth and change.
The upgrades will mean a complete tripling of size, and will support the community better than ever before.
Charles Evangelista, who serves as chairman of the Geneva Y’s Capital Campaign Steering Committee says organizations like theirs focus on community needs “We really listen to what the community needs and we’ve aligned our programs for those needs,” he told The Post.
