Convicted killer Emerson Tohafjian will go back on trial in February

Emerson ‘John’ Tohafjian will go on trail in a matter of weeks as a felony rape case moves forward.

The convicted murderer faces felony rape charges, as well as a count of unlawful imprisonment.

He was sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty in December 2018 of fatally shooting Lori McConnell, a Waterloo resident.

The case shook the community. A friend of McConnell’s, Charlie Andrus, of Seneca Falls, was also fatally shot.

A month prior to the shooting Tohafjian was accused of forcibly raping a woman in his car, and threatening to kill her.

The trial is scheduled to begin February 3rd in Seneca County Court.
