Four people were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle crash in the town of Perinton, which started as an attempted traffic stop in the town of Macedon.
The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. on Route 31 near Blackwatch Trail.
Police say that one of the vehicles involved in the crash was being pursued by Macedon Police in connection to a larceny investigation at the Macedon Tractor Supply store.
Police had reportedly found the suspects vehicle in the area of Turk Hill Road and engaged in a pursuit. They stopped the pursuit later due to the driver’s vehicle traveling erratically.
The suspect is said to have continued west on Route 31 before crashing with two other vehicles near the intersection of Route 31 and Blackwatch Trail.
Anthony Loquasto, 34, of Rochester was identified as the driver. A 31-year-old male passenger was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries along with the 34-year-old driver.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the wreck were also transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Loquasto was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to yield the right of way, and reckless driving.
Police say additional charges are expected to be filed by Macedon Police.
