Teens weren’t wearing seatbelts during Williamson wreck, sent to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a personal injury motor vehicle accident in the town of Williamson.

Riley Schmitt, 17, of Williamson was traveling west on Lake Road when her vehicle went off the road, and collided with a utility pole.

Deputies say that a 15- and 17-year-old were both passengers in the car. The Williamson Fire Department, Williamson Ambulance, Wayne County EMS, and Pultneyville Fire Department responded to the scene.

Both of the passengers were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Schmitt was issued citations for unsafe speed, and having youth in the front seat without wearing a seatbelt.
