Collins repaid himself more than $146K from leftover campaign accounts

Campaign documents show that former Congressman Chris Collins repaid himself more than $146,000 in leftover campaign funds, according to documents filed last month.

The Buffalo News reports that Collins failed to reimburse his donors the more than $15,000 they gave to his campaign committee in early-2019 when he said he was ‘innocent’.

He resigned in September, and pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the insider trading case.

Collins is set to be sentenced next week.
