Police say two Clyde residents were arrested in Seneca Falls following a traffic stop, which resulted in a DWI charge.
Kelly Smart, 46, of Clyde was charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as other citations after she failed to obey a stop sign.
As police completed a roadside investigation when the traffic stop was initiated – a 36-year-old Clyde man was also charged.
Police say Shawn Smart, 36, of Clyde was a passenger in Kelly Smart’s vehicle. During that traffic stop – Shawn interfered with police – preventing them from conducting the investigation into the driver.
He also had an open container of alcohol inside the motor vehicle. That resulted in an open container charge, as well as an obstruction of governmental administration charge.
Both were processed and will appear at a later date.
