The Waterloo Town Board will hear the results of a survey about a large solar farm proposed for the west end of the town Monday night, and one of the survey’s organizers said the results show major opposition to the project, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
A handful of people went door to door on Packwood, Seven, and Border City roads, as well as Pre-Emption Street were all included. Residents were asked to indicate whether they favored or opposed a solar project that’s proposed for the area.
“It’s not a petition opposing the project. It’s a survey where people had a choice of saying they are in favor or opposed,” explained Joe Wukitsch of Packwood Road to the FLT. “We started after Thanksgiving and finished last week. I believe we reached about 95 percent of the property owners.”
Out of 81 residents, 60 said they were opposed to the project.
