Plane slides off taxiway at Buffalo Airport as freezing rain falls on Sunday

A Delta Air Lines flight slid off the taxiway upon arrival at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Sunday morning.

Officials say around 8:30 a.m. the aircraft landed but then encountered conditions on the taxiway that caused it to slide off into the grass.

The flight was arriving from LaGuardia Airport in New York.

“It was like so scary, I literally thought we were gonna tip over,” said passenger Keara Donnelly.

The aircraft’s wheel was stuck for a period of time. Passengers were stuck on the plane for approximately one hour.
