Driver charged with grand larceny after stealing, crashing car in Canandaigua

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a 23-year-old man following a stolen vehicle investigation, which resulted in an accident.

Ronald Sennett Jr., 23, of Canandaigua was charged with grand larceny and driving while intoxicated.

Chief Stephen Hedworth says Sennett stole a vehicle from a parking lot on South Main Street in the city of Canandaigua and eventually crashed it in a swamp located in the town of Canandaigua.

Sennett then left the scene prior to police arrival, according to Hedworth. He was held at the Ontario County Jail after being taken into custody.

The charges will be answered at a later date. No injuries were reported.
