Marion driver refuses breath test after crashing car in ditch

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Marion driver following a property damage crash at the intersection fo Pearsall and Russell roads in Williamson.

Deputies say that Travis Kolstad, 45, of Marion was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to stop, and unlicensed operator following the crash.

Deputies say that Kostad failed to stop while approaching the intersection, causing his vehicle to go off the road into a ditch.

Investigation determined that he was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail where he refused to submit to a breath test.

Kolstad was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
