Breastfeeding moms in New York can now get an exemption from jury duty.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the legislation into law Monday which allows breastfeeding women to postpone jury duty service for up to two years.
To do so, the applicant must submit a note from their physician with her postponement application to verify she is breastfeeding.
The service must not have already been postponed or excused.
The new law takes effect immediately.
