Canandaigua man accused of causing life threatening injuries to victim during violent domestic incident

Police say that a woman suffered life threatening injuries at the hands of a 59-year-old Canandaigua man, who was taken into custody on Tuesday after being charged with first-degree assault.

Police received information regarding a domestic assault that took place on September 18th and initiated a criminal investigation.

Through investigation, police learned that Sebastian J. DiMaggio, 59, of Canandaigua physically assaulted a female victim causing life threatening internal injuries.

Police say that the victim is still recovering from those injuries.

DiMaggio was remanded to the Ontario County Jail and set to appear in court at a later date.
