Rehearsals underway for ‘Agonautika’ at Newark HS

Rehearsals are underway for the Newark High School Drams Club’s October 10 &11 performances of “Argonautika.”

“Argonautika” is the story of Jason and the Golden Fleece that features some well known Greek mythology characters such as Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, Eros, Hercules, and Medea.
“I was really drawn to this script because there is a true sense of ensemble in this piece,” Director Emily Howard said. “The actors are working together as a company to create all of these really interesting scenes of adventure. We have dragons, sea monsters and skeletons that come to life. We’re using movement and music to enhance the storytelling. I’m very excited about the creative possibilities that we’re working on together.”

The cast includes: Cody Acquista, Isabella Bailey, Brooklyn Baker,
Jaston Brooks, Dylan Burley, Kelsie Bushart, Grace Casler, Stephanie Chetney,
Kody Cobb,Jack Comella, Isabelle Figueroa, Cherylanne Garrett, Ryan Hermenet, Meiah Johnson-Danzey, Gillian Kiley, Kylie Lewis,Ethan Meeks,

Laura Meeks, McKinley Miller, Paris Morris, Nadia Rothpearl, Alex Sepulveda,
Deborah Szarek, Abdiel Ubiles, Emma Whiting and Amber Wilson.

Members of the crew include: Blake Blaisdell, Ben Cepulo, Phillip Collom
Courtney Crowley, Allison Exton, Rachel George, Liam Joslyn, Abigail Nezelek
and Preston Precourt.

The show will be presented at 7 p.m. each night in the NHS auditorium.

Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for students/seniors and $7 for adults.
