Cornell is going green. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo recently made an announcement that more than $121 million in green bonds is going to support projects at the university.
All proceeds will be put towards finance construction of new residence halls, dining halls, recreational facilities and programming spaces on campus.
The downside is that new construction must go up without new gas infrastructure for building heat, hot water, power or air conditioning.
The campus’ overall goal is to achieve carbon neutrality on the campus by the year 2035.
