New York State has become the first state in the nation to ban the sale of flavored e-cigarettes, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.
The ban, which also covers nicotine e-liquids, went immediately into effect after a vote on the emergency regulations by the Public Health and Health Planning Council.
Local vape store owners have warned that the ban will drive them out of business. Many of them came out to speak against ban, calling it the wrong approach.
“There’s two different situations,” said Nathan Swanson. “There’s the THC cartridges and vaping. You have to address the one- the THC cartridges- that are linked to deaths, not vaping. It’s two separate issues and you guys are totally missing the point.”
