Governor Andrew Cuomo is trying to continue New York’s support of America’s steelmakers.
On Saturday Cuomo announced that he wants to make the New York Buy American Act permanent.
The act requires that all the structural steel and iron in major state road and bridge projects come from the U.S.
Cuomo signed the law in 2017 and it’s due to expire next year. Now he says he wants it to be part of the state’s next budget as a permanent state law.
