People who live in the Village of Victor are being instructed to boil water or use bottled water for the time being.
E coli bacteria was found in the drinking water on Aug. 15th, according to village officials, which indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
Tap water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute and cooled before using.
Officials said they estimate the advisory to be in effect through the next three days.
