Portion of state highway system named after fallen officer

Governor Cuomo signed legislation naming a portion of the state highway system in Oneida County in honor of Officer Kevin Crossley, the governor’s office announced.

The bill designates part of State Route 69 in the Village of Whitesboro as the “Officer Kevin F. Crossley Memorial Highway.”

“Officer Crossley dedicated his career to serving his community and he put his life on the line every day to protect the people of Whitesboro,” Governor Cuomo said. “Designating a portion of State Route 69 in Officer Crossley’s name will ensure his sacrifice is remembered and honored for generations to come.”

Officer Crossley died on April 11, 2018 when a pickup truck crashed into his patrol car at the intersection of Oriskany Blvd. and Westmoreland St.
