A giant of the legal and political communities of Rochester has died.
Richard Rosenbaum was one of the youngest New York Supreme Court Justices ever elected.
Politically, Rosenbaum served as the New York Republican Chairman under Governor Nelson Rockefeller in the 1970s. He also served as Monroe County Republican Chairman and the Majority Leader of the Monroe County Legislature.
Rosenbaum also ran for Governor of New York in 1994.
“He serves as a role model for generations of candidates and political leaders,” said current Monroe GOP Chairman Bill Napier in a statement. “I cherish Rosie’s six decades of friendship with my family, his counsel, his generosity and support.”
