Police: Seneca Falls man stole over $4,500 with debit card, forged check

On Thursday at approximately 4 p.m. police arrested a 34-year-old Seneca Falls man following a larceny investigation, in which more than $4,500 was stolen.

Police say Michael Ellersick, 34, of Seneca Falls stole cash, a debit card, and a check from a local resident. He used the debit card to withdraw cash from an ATM and forged a signature on the stolen check.

Police say that the total amount stolen was over $4,500 between two separate complaints.

Ellersick was charged with one count of third-degree grand larceny, and one count of fourth-degree grand larceny. He was also charged with second-degree forgery and petit larceny.

Ellersick was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

The charges will be answered at a later date.
