Authorities in Yates County arrested a Waterloo man on drunk driving charges following a hit-and-run accident on Pre-Emption Road in the Town of Benton late-Tuesday.
Erick Hernandez, 32, of Waterloo was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to keep right and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Police say a utility pole was damaged in the incident.
Police say that his license had been suspended five separate times.
Hernandez was held at the Yates County Jail pending additional court action.
