Police: Waterloo man accused of verbally, physically abusing small child in Walmart

On Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. police arrested Jody L. Valentine, 41, of Waterloo.

The arrest stems from a child abuse call received at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located on North Road. Police say it was reported that Valentine had a nine-month old baby in his custody. While inside the store, the baby was crying.

Investigators determined that Valentine screamed at the child and shoved the shopping cart that contained the child against the wall.

Police say Valentine was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. He will be due back in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date to answer the charges.
