Two school guards who have been employed by the Skaneateles Central School District since last year are set to return for the 2019-20 academic year.
The district board of education approved Aileen Sherman and James O’Brien, both retired state troopers, for the next school year at its board meeting Tuesday night. Sherman and O’Brien started in April 2018 and the district had previously approved them in six-month increments. They were also approved Tuesday to carry a licensed and issued weapon and pepper spray while serving in their guard capacities.
