Witnesses and victims of the crash at an apartment building in Sodus Saturday evening are speaking out about their experience.
Willie Dan Nash Jr., 21, of Newark was arrested on multiple charges – including second-degree assault, criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, and operating without a license after his vehicle crashed through the apartment building along West Main Street in Sodus.
The whole ordeal, which sent four people to area hospitals – happened around 9 p.m., according to deputies.
Terrie Dunn, 15, was inside the apartment when a one-year-old a baby flew through the window moments after another teen, who was holding her. The baby landed in Dunn’s arms.
“All of the sudden, I just see bright lights coming at me,” Dunn said. “I see my best friend’s pinned. When she was pinned up against the house that’s when the baby came flying, and in my mind I’m like oh my god what’s going on.”
Investigators say Nash hit the baby’s mother and a 15-year-old girl who was holding the child.
A neighbor recounted the chaos at the scene. “I was trying to keep everyone calm. We were trying to maintain this situation, get things under control. It’s just a crazy thing to happen. It’s sad,” said Pamela Robinson, a neighbor who rushed to help.
The baby only sustained a small laceration on her foot.
The Sheriff’s Office said that the 15-year-old victim suffered a fractured hip. The baby’s mother sustained a fractured shin bone.
Friends of the family are asking for donations for the mother as she recovers in the hospital and finds a new home. They’re asking for diapers, car seats, and clothing for ages 1-5. Donations can be dropped off to Pamela Robinson at 114 W. Main St., Apt. 8, Sodus.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has provided new details on the crash that injured multiple people in Sodus – including what charges were filed against the driver.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sodus Police Department and New York State Police after a hit-and-run crash resulted in multiple people having been struck by a car at an apartment complex.
A little after 9 p.m. deputies responded to 114-116 W. Main Street for the report of several people having been hit by a car, then crashing into a building.
Deputies say that four people were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Those transported included a 15-year-old female, who sustained a hip fracture; a 29-year-old who sustained a fractured shin bone; a 15-year-old who sustained a sprained wrist; and a one-year-old who was involved in the crash but was uninjured.
The driver, identified as Dan Nash Jr., 21, of Newark, turned himself in to police several hours after the incident.
Investigators say the incident is believed to have been started after someone threw a bottle of alcohol at Nash’s vehicle. They say he then drove his vehicle in a reckless manner, losing control, and striking the four victims and apartment building.
Nash was charged with two counts of second-degree assault – both felonies, one count of criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, aggravated unlicensed operation, and unlicensed operator.
Nash was held at the Wayne County Jail pending arraignment.
