Deputies: Lyons motorcyclist had cocaine in his system at time of wreck on SR 31

Deputies say that a motorcyclist from Lyons was charged with operating under the influence of drugs following an investigation into a crash along State Route 31 on April 13th.

William Watson, 49, is accused of failing field sobriety tests after the crash along Route 31. Deputies say a blood sample was obtained, which determined that there was cocaine in his system at the time of the crash.

Watson was subsequently charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without a license and operating out of class.

Deputies say the crash occurred just west of Alderman Road in the Town of Macedon on April 13th. They say a deer entered the roadway and caused the collision involving Watson’s motorcycle.

At the time of the crash it was reported that Watson was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
