Governor Cuomo is calling for a re-design of the Lake Ontario shoreline.
The governor is starting the Lake Ontario REDI (resiliency and economic development initiative) Commission. It calls on towns along the lake to come up with a long-term plan to prevent future flooding.
This follows the second round of major flooding in two years.
“Once you accept that premise, then it’s a fool’s errand to continually rebuild to the same standard, only to have another flood that does the same damage,” he said Wednesday.
