A fundraiser has been started to assist a Deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office who was seriously hurt while doing yard work at a residence in Wayne County.
A GoFundMe was started to assist Caley Gaziano, who has been a deputy for six years has raised more than $11,500 as of Tuesday morning. The fundraising goal has been set at $20,000.
He’s known by friends for his selflessness; and desire to give back to the community.
Organizers of the fundraiser say that Gaziano was working in a yard when a tree fell on him. He was pinned to the ground, but was able to free himself while his girlfriend called 911.
As result of the incident – Gaziano was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital from Williamson.
Fundraiser organizers say he has a long road ahead of him, as he recovers from injuries sustained in the accident.
