Couple caught with 60 bags of fentanyl in Ontario County

Ontario County Sheriffs deputies arrested a Steuben County couple shortly after midnight on Thursday after having been pulled over in Farmington on State Route 332 for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation deputies learned that Arkport natives 22-year-old Corrine Tierney and 28-year-old James Chapman had 60 bags of fentanyl in their vehicle.

The Ontario County Special Investigation Unit interviewed Tierney and Chapman. The couple said they planned on selling the fentanyl.

Deputies issued Tierney traffic tickets for insufficient taillights, obstructed view, and defective exhaust.

Tierney and Chapman were arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree. Both were remanded to the Ontario County Jail for pre-arraignment detention and were arraigned later in the morning.
