Power outage causes closure of Cayuga County Office Building in Auburn

Officials in Cayuga County say that a power outage in the city of Auburn has resulted in the closure of the Cayuga County Office Building until further notice.

Below is a message from Monika Salvage, Executive Assistant to the Cayuga County Administrator who sent the notice out to media on behalf of Administrator Justin Woods.

“Due to the outage of a NYSEG transformer in the City of Auburn, the County Office Building and the County Court House will be closed to the public until further notice. The buildings are currently running on limited generator power. Check back for alerts on the county website at www.cayugacounty.us.”

It’s unclear what caused the power outage, or how long it will last.
