Childers pleads guilty to first-degree manslaughter in Wayne County Court

The woman charged in connection with a double murder in Sodus last fall has accepted a plea deal in Wayne County Court on Tuesday.

Charlene Childers appeared in court where she agreed to plead guilty to two charges – first-degree manslaughter, and a felony weapons charge.

She had originally been charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and conspiracy in the deaths of her ex Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn.

The community was rocked when Niles and Washburn were shot to death on October 22nd. The crime took place in the driveway of their home.

Timothy Dean, who also faces charges of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

A third suspect, Bron Bohlar, pleaded guilty in February to one count of conspiracy. He admitted to renting a car for Dean to drive up to New York from Texas.

As part of the plea deal, Childers gave up her right to appeal. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 27 at 9:30 a.m. in Wayne County Court.
