Deputies: Driver ticketed for having revoked license after Rt. 96 crash

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that they responded to a one-car crash along State Route 96 in Varick on Thursday around 4:30 a.m.

Upon investigation, the driver was found to be driving on a revoked license.

According to deputies, Ellen Parshall, 57, was traveling north on Route 96 when she swerved to avoid striking an animal in the roadway. The action caused the vehicle to leave the side of the road – and overturn in a ditch.

She was treated by South Seneca Ambulance for minor injuries. Parshall was issued a uniform traffic ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation for operating with a revoked license.

As result she will answer the charge in Varick Town Court at a later date.

The Romulus and Varick fire departments also assisted at the scene.
