An Auburn man was charged Wednesday for making more than 50 unauthorized transactions on another man's credit card, police said.
The Auburn Police Department said the victim, a 20-year-old man, allowed Tyler R. Stanton, 22, to use his credit card once but then Stanton used the information to make 59 unauthorized transactions back in June. The victim was a mutual friend of Stanton's, police said.
Transactions — which totaled more than $2,200 — were made at wish.com, Microsoft, and multiple were made at both Walmart and PayPal, police said. The victim was contacted by his credit card company and later reported the incident to the police.
Police said Stanton was arrested at his 6 Holley St., Apt. 2, residence without incident. The arrest took place at about 3 a.m. Wednesday. Stanton was also picked up on a bench warrant that was issued for him in September for a traffic violation.
