Police say Former Canandaigua Fire Chief Mark Marentette has died.
While his death remains under investigation, police do not believe foul play was involved.
Marentette passed away on Wednesday, according to police.
Earlier this week a judge sided with the City of Canandaigua in a lawsuit, which had been filed by the former chief.
U.S. District Court Judge Elizabeth Wolford ruled the City of Canandaigua was within its rights to fire Marentette in April 2017.
Marentette served as Canandaigua Fire Chief for six years in all.
