A Geneva man was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison for the first-degree rape of a 14-year-old child in Seneca County, according to the district attorney's office.
The sentence also includes 20 years of post-release supervision and requires sex offender registration.
Ahmad Whitfield, 21, was sentenced by Judge Barry Porsch in Seneca County Court after pleading guilty Aug. 10 to one count of first-degree rape.
The case stemmed from a 2025 investigation by Waterloo police and the Criminal Investigation Division of the Seneca County Sheriff's Office into allegations that Whitfield forcibly raped the child.
District Attorney John Nabinger said the conviction and sentence provided the child and community with some measure of justice, and he credited both investigating agencies for their work.
Assistant District Attorney Zachary Maurer praised the child's strength in coming forward and said he hoped the guilty plea and sentence would help the child continue moving forward.
