Yankees pitcher Cam Schlittler and Mets outfielder Carson Benge are finalists for two of baseball's major awards, with winners to be announced during the week of Nov. 9.
Schlittler is one of three finalists for the American League Cy Young Award, alongside Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease and Guardians pitcher Parker Messick, according to MLB.com's report on the Baseball Writers' Association of America announcements.
Benge is a finalist for National League Rookie of the Year. The other finalists are Reds infielder Sal Stewart and Cardinals infielder JJ Wetherholt.
The announcements put a player from each New York club in contention as baseball turns from the postseason to its annual awards.
