The Buffalo Sabres loaned defenseman Dennis Gilbert to the Rochester Americans on Sunday, Nov. 1, the team announced.
Gilbert has one goal and one assist in five games with Buffalo this season, averaging 9 minutes, 55 seconds of ice time.
The move follows Buffalo's decision to put Zach Metsa in Gilbert's place on defense for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Kings. That lineup change was included in the Sabres' game preview.
Buffalo's injury report also lists forward Konsta Helenius as out with an upper-body injury sustained Oct. 27 in San Jose. Helenius returned to Buffalo for evaluation and missed the last two games of the California road trip.
