Ithaca’s Planning and Development Board granted preliminary site plan approval Oct. 27 to a 200-unit waterfront housing project at 683 Third Street, according to The Ithaca Voice.
The Water’s Edge proposal advanced by a 4-0 vote after developers revised commercial space and parking plans, and the board also approved a subdivision associated with the development.
The project calls for two five-story buildings, commercial space and improvements connecting the property with the Cayuga Waterfront Trail.
The board separately granted final site plan approval to SouthWorks’ Gateway Apartments, which would provide 100 mixed-income apartments in two buildings on South Aurora Street.
Members requested further review of a proposed SouthWorks workforce and child care center and advised Beginnings Federal Credit Union to return with its parking lot proposal next month.
