Former Auburn prison inmate sentenced to seven years for officer assault

A former Auburn Correctional Facility inmate was sentenced to seven years in prison for assaulting a correction officer during an attempted pat frisk, according to the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office.

Quincy Lundy was convicted of second-degree assault after punching the officer in the face in the prison mess hall on March 3, 2024, prosecutors said.

The blow fractured bones in the officer's face.

The seven-year term must be served consecutively to Lundy's existing prison sentence, the district attorney's office said.

At the time of the assault, Lundy was serving 25 years to life for a 2014 second-degree murder conviction in Onondaga County.

The new sentence also includes five years of post-release supervision.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher Valdina handled the prosecution.
